I hate Umber Splashtails. The rarest of the Splashtails in Sea of Thieves. I hate Trophy Umber Splashtails, the rarer variant of the Umber Splashtail.
Until I had the 10 needed for the commendation I almost never saw them, but then I got 10 sold to Hunter's Call and the rarest Splashtail, became the most common. I've seen more Umber Splashtails than Indigo Splashtails. More Umber Splashtails than Sunny Splashtails.
Perhaps, more Umber Splashtails, than Ruby Splashtails; the most common of the Splashtails according to Rare.
Ponds are my friends. Umber Splashtails do not like ponds. It may be wise to seek out ponds, just to fish in freedom from the Umber Splashtail. To fish with peace of mind, that no Umber Splashtail will appear, and claim another bait intended for another species.
But perhaps, the curse of the Umber Splashtail is that which makes one love the Umber Splashtail. What makes one grow a great desire for one. I've made a Discord Server named "Umber Splashtail", a Sea of Thieves Guild named "Umber Splashtail", a Sloop and Brigintine named "Umber Splashtail", and even, in what I claim to be joke and commitment to the bit, a Discord Bot, named... "Umber Splashtail".
Perhaps what truly mattered over the time of becoming a Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Thieves, is the Umber Splashtails we caught along the way. Perhaps, the Umber Splashtail is the true lord of the sea, even more so than the myth that dwells in the deep.
Perhaps, the Umber Splashtail... is the pinnacle... of...
the fish in the Sea of Theives.
In the time of writing this, I found two more Umber Splashtails. One trophy, one normal. God help me.
